Hon Mun

Hon Mun Island deserves to be the choice for your vacation with a lot of interesting activities off the coast. Immersing yourself in the beauty of Hon Mun Island can definitely help you escape the busy daily routine.

Hon Mun Island is famous for its long white-sand beaches, diverse marine ecosystem and worthwhile tourism services. Visiting this picturesque island with your family and friends will give you one of the best traveling experiences ever in your life. Check the information below for more details about Hon Mun Island and activities for tourists.

Hon Mun Island is located to the Southeast of Bong Nguyen Island. It has a total area of 160 square kilometers, including the 122-square-kilometer sea surface area and the 38-square-kilometer area of smaller sub islands.

The name “Hon Mun” derives from the color of the rock cliffs here which are as black as ebony. The caves formed by the cliffs are places where swiftlets, as well as many other creatures, come to roost or make their nests.

Hon Mun Island is one of the most famous islands in Nha Trang to have clear water and poetic scenery. Looking from above, you can see a breathtaking landscape created by blue waves and green trees. Coming there, you will certainly get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in the wonderful nature.

The diverse marine ecosystem is another attractive feature of Hon Mun Island. It is assessed by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as the area with the most marine biodiversity in Vietnam with about 1,500 marine species. Hon Mun is the first marine conservation area in Vietnam and the planning sea area where fishermen are not allowed to fish.

In particular, it possesses a variety of corals with unique shapes on account of its association with the hot ocean currents pushed from the equator. Thanks to the rich amount of corals, Hon Mun Marine Park is likened to the Indo-Pacific’s center of coral diversity. Hence, it not only attracts tourists but also allows oceanographers to study and explore the seabed.

Hon Mun is 10 kilometers away from Cau Da Port. At the wharf area, you can find a lot of canoes and boats transiting to Hon Mun with reference prices as follows:

By canoes: 300,000 VND/trip
By boats: 250,000 VND/trip
